The Descent of the Gods is ready to read!

Many of you know I’ve been working on a screenplay and a book for a long time – like 15 years… I’m really slow! πŸ˜‰ But the second draft of the book is ready, and it’s available if you’d like to read it (PDF link at the end of the post).

A little background – Ages ago I found a little-known passage in the Bible, and found that the traditionally-accepted interpretation of the verses were quite controversial. The verses infer that a few angels visited the earth long ago, but the results of the visit were… let’s say ‘less than ideal’. πŸ˜‰ . The potential of a story where heaven and earth converge in a semi-controversial manner that hardly anyone had talked about before? My interest was piqued!

I really thought there was a fascinating story here that no one had really told before. Figuring it out was very challenging – it was probably 10 years of work before the plot ‘worked’ in bringing the ancient tale to life in a relevant way that a modern reader would relate to – regardless of their beliefs – but would live up to the source material.

The screenplay was accepted for competition in a few screenwriting competitions last year, and so this year I focused on turning it into something people could really read – a book. I hate writing, I’m not Shakespeare, but I’m trying. πŸ˜‰

If you would like to read my second draft, you’re welcome to! I’d just love to get feedback for the next draft – things you liked, what needs more development, things you didn’t like, etc.
